EmetCalm takes your privacy seriously. This is a mental health tool and we understand the sensitivity of your data.
Who runs EmetCalm
EmetCalm is a personal project built and operated by an individual based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of data protection law, this individual is the data controller. You can reach them at hello@emetcalm.com.
What we collect
When you create an account, we store your email address and any grounding session reflections you choose to save. This includes the trigger you selected, how you felt before and after, and whether you were physically unwell. If you add a note to a session, that is stored too. We do not collect your name, location, or any other personal information.
Why we process your data
We process your data on the legal basis of your consent. You choose to create an account and save sessions. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your data or your account.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored securely in Supabase, which is hosted on AWS infrastructure in the EU (Frankfurt). All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/SSL).
Who can see your data
Only you. Your grounding sessions are protected by row-level security, which means no other user can access your data. We do not share, sell, or provide your data to any third party.
Third-party services
EmetCalm uses a small number of third-party services to function:
- Supabase for authentication and database storage. When you sign in with a magic link, Supabase sends the email on our behalf. Supabase uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. This is a functional cookie required for authentication and is not used for tracking. Their privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.
- Vercel for hosting and analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which collects anonymous page view data with no cookies and no personal information.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law (GDPR), you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is processed, and request a portable copy of it. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@emetcalm.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual grounding sessions from the Log page at any time. You can also delete all sessions at once, or delete your entire account instantly from your account settings. Deleting your account removes all associated data permanently. If you have any issues, email us and we will help.
Age requirement
EmetCalm is not intended for anyone under 16 years of age. If you are under 16, please do not create an account. If we become aware that we have collected data from someone under 16, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update this page. We will not reduce your rights without notice.
